so after spending the week in sunset beach, NC, my wife and I's tentative NC/SC tour dates are: Willmington 9/15, Charleston 9/16, 9/17, Charlotte 9/18 and Raliegh/Durham 9/19.

what's a good time in raliegh/durham on a Monday look like? places to go, things to see, if you were looking to potentially move to the area?

I would meet with you in Raleigh and tell you some good places to lives and go, but that's also my wife's birthday. Let me know what all your looking for and I can help anyway I can.

Thank you both for the offers! we're working on a plan of residential areas we'd like to look at.

I'm actually pretty familiar with Wilmington, as I've spent a lot of time at Wrightsville beach, and almost welt to UNC Wilmington. parents are currently house shopping there as well, for a nice waterfront home (ICW, not beach). but i'll certainly shoot you a PM closer to our day there if we have any questions, or I can convince my wife to make a pitstop at a bar ;)

Happy birthday to your wife, Ryan! The whole R/D/CH area covers so much ground, that we are having to spend the most time researching neighborhoods in that area. i'll certainly reach out to you for some comments, once we narrow down the search a little! luckily my wife has friends we're staying with, and I'm hoping to meet up with Wesling when we get into town. looks like it will be a successful stop. and since it's our last one before heading back north, if we decide an extra day is needed, its no problem to extend the vacation

I may have a buddy's driveway we could work in. What tools would we need? Still debating on doing a shackle or an AAL....

If the coils and shocks are assembled maybe 1-2 hours for fronts. If not assembled i really cant help. Rear shouldnt take long. Never worked on a 1st gen, cant be too different ?

LOTS OF PB BLaster, A first gen in the mountains is bound to have a rusted bolt or 2 lol. I recommend spraying everybolt every day until you are ready to work. Everything can be done with hand tools but Air Tools would be better for the rusted bolts. 10,12,13,14,16,17,19,21 wrenches and sockets and something like a 34mm soocket for the wheel nut. @T4RH33L just did his recently.
