Took the truck in because I noticed rust on the frame. And it failed. Waiting for paper work and hopefully will have a new frame. But time frame is looking at about 6 months :(

Also, every single person at my dealership was in shock at the welds that Eddy did. Absolutely impressed. They said it looked as if a robot did the welding. It is that good. One even joked and said if they cut my frame where the rust is.. the sliders would hold it together.

    Hi all,

Looking to sell a set of 4 stock shocks and front coils from my 2015 TRD Sport with about 1,500 miles on them if anyone is interested. Will sell them for $200 if you pick them up. I'm in Fayetteville.

I also have a set of the OEM rubber floor mats if interested.

Lol just hang in there. That's the thing, there's so many different options, it's hard to figure out when you're just starting to find these things. But the reason there are so many options, is there are so many different ways to get different kinds of lift, and different qualities of lift. I'll break it down a little bit.

5100s up front and an AAL, ~$300
-Yes you can use stock coils, and yes it will be level(with the exception of the "Taco lean")
This is what I had on my Tacoma and it rode smooth enough for me for the time. I wanted to eventually switch to kings or icons.

5100s all the way around and an AAL ~$500
Still using stock coils, but just added rear 5100s. Necessary? Not REALLY... but it would be nice.

5100s with OME 885 coils and an AAL ~$475
Little bit better quality up front.

OME 885s with stock struts and AAL in rear ~$250
I don't particularly think you'll get the lift you want from just replacing the coils up front, I've never seen anybody do it.

    The lift you posted ~$300
The lift comes from the top plate spacer in the front and the blocks in the rear. It will be stiffer, and won't have as much travel as the other ones I just mentioned.

Then of course you start getting into the higher end things that are above your $500 range. Companies like Icon and King.

    Helpful? lol

I know somebody that may want it.... What's the timeline?

Can you explain this concept of "travel"

This is not my daily/commuter vehicle but I do have a beach house in Emerald Isle that I frequent and I plan on taking the Taco out on the sand/surf when fishing season revs up this fall. Besides that, the extent of my off-roading would be minimal. In a sense, all this would best be described as "for looks" (hence the low budget), but I also want a smooth ride, or a ride similar to what I experience now with the stock setup.

Travel is basically how far up and down the suspension will allow the wheel to go. Rock crawling guys like a lot of travel so they can be more able to articulate the rocks. Desert running guys like longer travel so when they make the jumps, there's a lot of room for shocks to take the brunt of the impact. Rednecks in Georgia, Florida and Alabama don't give a rip about travel, all they care about is getting the most lift so they can fit huge tires and get through the mud holes easier.

In my opinion the one that is the cheapest and gives you the smooth ride/similar to stock is the option I went with(5100s and AAL).
To caveat the "for looks" idea, my buddy had a 2wd tacoma and knew he wasn't going to take it offroad, but he wanted the look, so he bought the 5100s and AAL(this is where I got the idea, and I loved it).
Plus, you can fit 33s which are wonderful on the beach :D

Wow, only been on this forum for a few days and I already feel like I'm a part of the family!

Wheelers has the struts for $170 and the AAL for $77. Not sure how much they charge for shipping. Headstrong is $190 free ship for just the struts.

Well dang. I didn't check wheelers. The AAL is 85 on headstrong.
See, I didn't really look around on the other sites when I bought mine, I just bought it from toytec, which was 219 for the struts and 85 for the AAL. Now that I know about the other sites, I'll know for next time.
Oh, you'll also need longer Ubolts for the AAL. Unless it specifically says that the AAL comes with the Ubolts.

2 reasons: you're doing research and asking questions! It'll be a good time eating, bsing, "bossing", "supervising", "oh me, I'm working", wrenching, and finally installing all this!
