I just cleaned half my driveway and cleaned off the vehicles. Oh and took a little drive.

 

That means the mail can get through then.

 

Maybe. Not on Sunday though. Some parts were pretty bad. Got to watch a Prius slide around a little.

 

took the Tacoma for a ride in the slop just to see how it handled, damn thing is to feck'n long to just whip it around like the 4Runner. Seems the 'stone Destination LE2 do pretty well on snow and pack ice, not so well when ice is wet. Same with the Cooper HTPs i have on the Runner, but its short and reasonably easy to whip around

 

I'm surprised to see the ice melting... It's not even above freezing. Nothing in my neighborhood was salted.

 

The sunny spots on the road are clearing, shaded parts are greasy as hell.

NCDOT Is scraping and laying down more brine, kinda pointless really this late in the day.

Road not far from me is iced it's full length, roll back stuck in ditch, ford dually stuck not far behind it.

I forgot how much I like manual transmission and throttle, MUCH more control on the greasy stuff.

 

Watched a handful of people try to get out of the neighborhood over the past couple hours. There's a big hill that you have to go up to get onto the highway and 3 were going a bit too slow, slid back down and ended up side ways. Papa John's delivery truck managed to make it to the top but slid off into a pile of snow and had to dig himself out. Still like a nascar race out on highway 50 though but will probably be a cluster for at least the first half of tomorrow since that brine is useless at those temperatures.

 

AllSeason maybe even some rain tires are best for this mess right now, something with decent siping in the tread blocks, and the understanding how to use the tires to your advantage.
