Odd question for anyone. My truck is being built more as a expedition/family camping truck. Im setting it up to always have some camping gear in it. I;m going to keep a propane grill in it (looking for a smaller compact one for that, rather than my big Coleman). My question is how much heat can a small propane tank take. Want to leave one in truck, but not sure if that will create to much pressure in the propane canister. Any one have info

Coleman Roadtrip, the other Coleman camping ones, or smaller? I personally wouldn't leave one in a vehicle, it could leak, explode, etc.. If it's in the bed it'd probably fine.

With internal temps of cars in the sun I wouldn't do it.

Hi-tech super fancy. RFRM, 10 fuse 5 relay.

i use those green tanks for tailgating (this was before I got the taco) and they stayed in the car during the game. Maybe 3ish hours at a time and we're always fine. I don't think I would ride with one in there if I knew it would be out in the direct sun for much longer than that though.

That said, now that I have the taco for this season, they will stay in the bed on Saturdays while I'm at the games for that time frame...

Make sure you're compressor doesn't overload it. The relays I got are only 35a. Check your amperage under load, high psi.

Gotcha Blue sea. I've got that but I'm upgrading to the RFRM box.

Match your wiring to the amperage, bigger gauge is better for high amps.

Interesting info in this pdf on the subject. If you are serious about over landing I would skip the green bottles. You can't refill and disposal can be difficult. A 5lb tank is pretty compact and built to withstand higher pressures. The doc says never fill more than 80% for heat vapor expansion.
