Allegedly there are covenants, but seem to be selectively enforced. They claimed my trucks were "commercial" vehicles, also said I built a fence and a shed with out permission. Fence was the reason we bought the house, guilty as charged about the shed, but who to ask ? Which was what I told them. Got a frowny face and that was it. Now I actually do have a commercial vehicle in the drive, not a word.

 

You'll meet county enforcement soon enough, have a big bin fire or let you dog run, somebody will complain.

 

Doubtful, no one can see in the property unless you look down the driveway. And we are on the very edge of the county line. Big fire, seen them, roaming dogs, seen them too, tried to get the county out for roadkill but never heard back. Even with follow up

 

Half assed teasing when I said that, I hope you're far enough out in the sticks you don't have to be bothered with it. I know folk who have had those issues out yonder it's a true WTF moment.
But there is always someone out there that can't handle someone else having fun, even if they were invited.

 

I'm out far enough I think, gotta go talk to county sheriff about a few things just to be safe though and not go off neighbors words...

Alright guys. Got my lift. Got nitrochargers for front and rear (Paid under $300 for all four, rear are brand new, front only have 800 miles on them), brand new front OME 885 Springs, and sadly, I'm running a 2" block in the rear until I can get my hands on some Dakars. Now before I install, the question is, should I replace the front top hat/shock mount assembly/hardware? I'm thinking yes cause this is the stock suspension with about 190k on them so who knows what's going on in there. Couldn't hurt, right?

We talked about em, I'm going to wait and let my poor, college student, wallet recover then buy brand new ones. Looks like I can get a set brand new, free shipping, for $450~. And at that price, the warranty and customer service if by far worth it.

if there is no rust you can reuse, BUT having shock/spring assembled prior to installing lift makes things go much faster, the top plates are ~$25 ea, you can save the old ones for the next lift version.....

 

Good call. My plan was to take the old assemblies off, and bring everything to my buddy over at the Volkswagen dealership and have him decompress the old ones and then reassemble my new ones with the old hardware. But that would mean leaving my truck in the air for like an hour or two and it hardly fits in my garage. New top plates means I can have him assemble them whenever he has time and it's easy for everyone. Good plan, thanks dude.
