Are really that intent on spending an ungodly sum to pay someone to install your stuff ?

Do you have the parts already ? If not, source your parts, let us know when you’re ready and there are a number of willing folk to help out. Honestly, if it comes down t it, it can be done in the street out front of your house. ( drastic, but it can be done)

My driveway is not paved, I have no actual garage, just a large shed, I’ve done engines, transmissions, lifts. 6” lift on an ‘85 4Runner with a belly tuck ( 2” body and drive train lift, also raised the gas tank to be flat with the frame)
I swapped the rear springs in my POS by myself in plywood in front of the shed, took me about 3 hours (I have air tools and stands)
This stuff doesn’t have to be done by a “shop” or even on a lift.

I will admit a nice flat piece of concrete is a nice luxury. There are plenty here that will offer it up too. Some even have a roof and walls to offer!

If there was somewhere to do it and someone to guide me I would. But I just don't have that right now. Can't do the street either (my HOA will be up in my junk about that immediately).

Wouldn’t be the first time I pissed off a busybody HOA snootpatrol.

Beer, and something grillable, someone will be happy to offer up. My accommodations aren’t pristine, but work for me.
I work in parking lots and gravel lots a lot anyway, so I’m used to les then ideal conditions. Gimme a piece of cardboard and I’m a happy guy ;)

The only thing you’ll need to do afterward is get the alignment done.

@AgingDisgracefully What @mrbedgood said for your AR. I have built a many of them over the yrs. pretty much every manufacturer recc. between 40-65 ftlbs on the barrel nut. I use to torque them but then found that getting the tooth lined up for the gas tube I always had to adjust. So now I just go good and snug and get the gas tube slots if the nut has reliefs for it. I doubt you messed anything up take it apart and see. That barrel and upper are a lot tougher than you give them credit.

As far as putting your lift on shit like @Blkvoodoo @Sandman614 have been trying to convince you of is it's possible and we are here to help. If you don't have a good place others may have a driveway they can lend and a hand to get it installed. You don't need a shop, go look at all the pics from the AOP trip this past April there was a lot of work done in a field. Also like blkvoodoo I have never had a paved driveway or garage, just a large shed full of tools, I built my foxbody drag car on a gravel drive, in inclement weather I set up a tarp. Sure a garaged is nice and makes life easier but not necessary to GSD.

@AgingDisgracefully if none of the guys in Raleigh work out you’re welcome to come down to Wilmington and do it in my driveway, my office parking lot, etc.. I’ve got tools, plenty of space, and I’m a certified YouTube mechanic haha

The Geissele is unusual in two senses: it is aluminum and requires no timing of the gas tube.

Per faith, on one level I get what your saying. But at the same time every gun has had catastrophic failures which have sometimes proven catastrophic to the user. Now, I grant you, probably 70 percent of these cases trace back to ammo, either defective OEM or someone getting too cute reloading, that leads to an overpressure situation and probably 10 percent traces to the other extreme (squib round that the shooter fails to recognize and tries to shoot again). But some are due to some sort of build error or poorly executed modification. So I am always going to be on the safe side with this kind of thing. Besides, in the grand scheme of things uppers are cheap.

By the way, speaking of them, just to let everyone know Geissele is having their typical big Memorial day sale.
