Anyone have any information on or experiences they would like to share regarding performance, suspense, etc. alterations to their trucks here in NC concerning inspections, emissions, maintenance, etc? Any horror stories, places recommended or to avoid entirely, etc?

 

I’ve never seen anyone that has had any issues in this state. That includes some really sketchy rides I’ve known of in the mountains when I still lived there

 

as long as you meet the Safety and Emmisions criteria the state has put forth, you’re golden.

Emissions equipment needs to look as though it’s in operating order, check engine light needs to come on when keyed up then go out once started, ECU must see all the readiness staus’ and pass and no MIL request present. (on years required must also match VIN on registration)

suspension has no loose components, no full hydraulic steering, brakes in working order on each wheel, no leaks, exhaust routed behind axle or out side infront of wheel if i front of axle.

and quite honestly, you need to get to know people and not ask about stations in an open forum.

good or bad i’d be pissed if i owned said place and got a visit from the DMV men in black.

i’ve had my inspectors license in the past, and glad as hell its long since expired.

I've had that visit when I was doing inspections. What people don't realize is we can a federal crime for passing a vehicle that should not of passed as well as huge fines

 

'm looking for 2017 or 2018 OEM suspension takeoffs from a TRDOR . Mainly looking for local sales but will consider payingshipping of it is feasible. Woah, wait. Misunderstanding and honestly I should’ve worded that better and as follows:

1. Has anyone run into any issues with alterations to their truck?

2. What, if any, facilities are recommended for maintenance or future alterations to said truck that cannot be performed by average joe.

3. Who should you avoid for repairs, maintenance, etc. that cannot be performed by average joe.
