    Walked over to Walmart while truck was at Firestone, asked the girl at jewelry for a watch battery. She hands me one and says it's $5.98, I handed it back to her. Turned around and there's a battery stand with a 3pack for $5

    i wouldn't be concerned by "spikes" its when the temps climb and not coming back down is when you need to be concerned and you're not cooling.

    there is always gonna be heat, hard acceleration, shifting will make the clutches slip, which is where the heat comes from.

    Ease into it and not letting it shift up and down constantly. (stay out of over drive in hilly terrain)

    a spike is just a momentary event. (momentary being relative to the cause)

    your road speed has a lot to do with it too, it sucks but you don't need to be doing 105 ( or 70 ) pulling that monstrosity.

    the trailer tires wont handle it long, blow one, you'll be replacing the other soon after.
