We had one of those growing up called it the spaceship van! BTW I hate working on them the stupid driveshaft from the eng to the accessories is ridiculous. That and lifting the front driver's seat to check and fill the oil.

 

But as long as you kept oil and coolant in them, that 4Y would run forever

Yeah that thing is a tank the transmission on the other hand wasn't the greatest.

 

So what we have here is a failure to current rate a connector supplied..? The wire is only hot/melting the first couple inches around the quick connect.

 

That or the connector does not have enough surface touching each other to allow proper flow.
