Idk how much those numbers really mean.. I have had at least one instance where my Harbor freight earthquake couldn't get a nut off but the Dewalt did.

That is kinda what started this whole thing. I need to get a bolt out for my passenger seat belt and neither of my air impacts have the balls to do it-granted both are older than I am

of your compressor had the CFM and capacity that Earthquake would be a beast, you need a larger compressor.
i run mine on 3/8” hose from a gas powered wheelbarrow compressor, it gets pretty much everything i’ve needed off the last couple years
The really big stuff i use a torque multiplier (hand operated, makes light work of large lugnuts like on semis, i was using a 3/4” drive and a 48” pipe wrench to break them loose before that...too much like work)

I've got the dewalt and will say there isn't anything it hasn't been able to break loose yet. Buddy of mine wasn't paying attention to what speed he was on and shared some grade 8 hardware like butter lol. With that said though I've seen the ryobi stuff hold its own with comparable numbers, imho stock with the same brand you have. You won't get pissed when that one battery you have dies and you really need it...

ive got the Ryobi 1/2” impact, it won’t do the larger lugs that I deal with, that was expected but being able to knock off cylinder nuts and attachment mounts it’s perfect.
...and I learned it’s in rhythm with the snare section of my daughters HS marching band when they are practicing the National Anthem tat tat tat

AvE has done some good tear down and analysis/reviews of these batt operated tool. I myself run DeWalt. I have been using their stuff since the 90s, when I had issues the customer service was good. I have beaten the crap out of my stuff. My little 1/4" driver impact took a tumble off the roof and bounced a couple times after ~10ft drop, battery didn't even come off surprisingly. It works just fine still (I think I got lucky tbh). The reality is there are pros and cons to them all all are decent tools. The torque #s they claim are pretty much BS and are gotten from pretty specific testing methods the manufacturer decides to use there isn't a standard for it.

price point, what you get vs what you spend. sometimes spending up doesn’t get you the value you think you’re getting.

but then there is how often will you use the tool ? if battery tools don’t get cycled the batteries go bad

years ago i bought a nice 14.4 DeWalt drill, worked great, just didn’t use it often enough the batteries went bad, would hold a charge very long. been thru a half dozen Ryobi drills, same thing, just hurts less because i didn’t spend as much.

current ryobi situation is impact and grinder which i use for work, as well as the drill. three batteries, they get used weekly, but not hard enough to need a charge all that often. we’ll see how long this stuff lasts

That is a very good point!

I use mine often enough that the batteries get cycled quite a bit. But the batts still go bad well before the tool.
