Looking for a good place to do some camping/overlanding within ~2 hours drive south of Charlotte. Nothing too dangerous/technical. What trails or routes are good?

I would have put good money on it being southeast. Turns out it’s NE :anonymous:

Outside of Hurricane, there isn’t much wheeling in Asheville. You may get lucky and have Ivestor Gap trail open to vehicles this time of year. Tons of camping though

Your only about 1:30 mins from Uhwarrie. If you are looking South of Charlotte I would try asking the Charlotte group they my have some better outlets South. Good Luck.

Well, we didn’t see the deer this morning.Just some squirrel, turkey, lizard, rat sort of thing.
Bunch of pine needles were pulled off my axles before we traversed out. Thought the new Taco handled this eastern mud just fine..

Not really I've done 2 runs down there takes me about 3:30 hrs to get there and I'm abt 1:30 from clt. It might be a little over 2 hrs from there but not too bad.
