    @Dangerdave
    @TacoGoonin

    I popped up in here around Thanksgiving asking about recommended shops to install my lift. I finally received my front shocks from Fox, they were apparently behind on production. Are either of you guys available to help install? I’d be willing to come to you.

    You have any dates in mind? I’m headed to Texas from the 29th-3rd but aside from that I’m currently free

    A little of this and a little of that.
    I remember, good to hear from you bud. Hope you had a good Christmas/New Years. Certainly, I don’t mind helping out. I feel your pain regarding the “waiting game” struggle. I’ve had my CO’s for almost 2 months now and I’m still waiting on my rear shocks, etc. Got an update from the distributor I went through back on 01/07 apologizing for delays and appreciating my “patience” lol. Eh, it is what it is. Anyways, like I said earlier, I don’t mind helping out. My garage is currently in state of clusterith fuckery due to moving shit around the house and tackling multiple projects at once. So, as @Dangerdave said, what sort of timeframe are we talking here?

    Btw, idk if this was mentioned or not, but do you have all of your components together and you’re ready to start? Or are you still waiting on stuff and wondering if we can still help once you acquire everything?

    Ah the waiting game I feel your pain. Waiting for my shock relocations and custom valved 14" kings from Accutune offroad. Also Chevy 63s and brake lines should be here either this week or next :bananadance:

    I'd be willing to help but if you don't mind the drive and can get in the shop early. We are holding another MOD day down at SOS Concepts looks like the date is going to be Feb 9. Here is a link to the thread. Last time we had over 20 something trucks and a great time. You'll get to meet a lot of guys in the area and meet Eddy the owner of SOS and see his handy work.

    I’m free this weekend. I’ve got all the pieces of the lift: front and rear shocks, uca’s, progressive AAL, extended brake line, rear axle shim and differential drop kit.

    I’ve never done UCAs or the Diff drop. Not that we can’t figure it out, but full disclosure that I haven’t personally installed either of those parts before

    Appreciate the heads up. I’d be willing to learn together and figure it out.

    What hasn't been modified?
    FYI for installing the uca most people bend the fender lip out of the way so you can get that long bolt out.

    Have a large crescent wrench to use to pry it back with

    Please don't put the bolt in from the bottom up. There are a couple of connectors and A/C lines on the pass side that are in the way but can easily be moved to get the bolt out. I've heard of several instances where guys put the bolt back in from the bottom and the nut loosened up or something happened and the bolt dropped out and the UCA comes off the frame.

    All of that is fairly easy, even easier if the front shocks are already assembled with the springs. Make sure you understand the procedure for bleeding the brakes, you will need to do that when you change the lines. A lot of people have said that the front Diff Drop is ineffective on these trucks as it just rotates the differential rather, which has lead to a couple of people having holes knocked into their block/oil pan when offroading.
    As long as you are willing and capable to learn, watch some youtube videos and take it easy/be careful. With the hands available it should go pretty smoothly.

    THIS!! It is easy enough to put it in the correct way and should the nut ever back of you don't fuck yourself because the bolt can't fall out.

    :eek: So does the diff. "drop" put the U-joints in a bind and the DS break free and knock into the block/pan? Glad I decided not to do the diff drop.

    I believe it lowers the rear of the diff (while the axles are at the front) which puts the bolts lower so they get caught on rocks and someone had it push up into the block/pan.

    Yea I’ve read a ton of horror stories about that on here. When I still had my Tacoma and was planning on buying them I did the research and that was the one consistent “no-no” lol

    I’m not one to cut corners when it comes to drivetrain or suspension
