Been hitting up early morning rides before work!! Was on the trail at 545 this morning!! Other than clearing the spider webs it had been great

Took my truck to the dealer for help trying to diagnose my AC woes to see if they could tell me if I needed to replace the evaporator. They didn't tell me much just that they wanted $3200 to replace basically everything. So I left the stealership with no new information like I had hoped. Today I replaced the Compressor (seized & bone dry) Condensor, and Expansion Valve and put fresh seals all around. Im hoping I dont have to mess with the evaporator. I found a filter that runs into the expansion valve at the firewall and it was extremely clogged. Im hoping that was my restriction and what could have been causing the hissing noise I have been hearing. The expansion valve itself looked brand new.



Id say she was clogged up just a bit ... Brand new one should flow a lot more



Expansion Valve looked good but changed it out anyways. Was cheap and I figured Id eliminate as many possible problems while it was all torn apart.

Also did my Tie Rods Inner and Outer Im whooped. Its Beer30! Now I'll cross my fingers on Monday when I get it Vacuumed and Charged.

Replace the Schrader valves now, hi and low side, those are the gateway to leaks on an old system. It’s cheap now....before it’s charged

Engine side of firewall. Where the AC lines run into the firewall there is a piece that bridges the AC lines and the expansion valve. The filter is inside one of the lines on that small bridge piece. Didnt get any pics of it but Ive got the diagram. You can see the expansion valve hiding in my pics. Wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be replacing it. Theres a little shelf so if you drop the O-ring seals or screws it doesn't go into the abyss which was a lifesaver





Refrigerant Filter is inside this piece



Super cheap and hopefully fixes my hissing noise. I tried to blow thru my old one and could hardly push air thru it was so caked
