Raleigh North Carolina and surrounding areas

Better than my last experience with OOPS.. Package arrives in Raleigh, then is sent to Charlottesville VA, then back to Richmond and back to Raleigh.

 

I believe Richmond is one of the big hubs, so something must have been flagged on the package as an error or suspicious and had to be reprocessed.

 

lol I think it was just someone not wanting to be at their job and not paying attention.

Anybody ever done U-joints? I'm on this maintenance kick and have 2 projects left. Did the ECGS bushing swap last weekend. My needle bearing was definitely worn when you spun it sounded like sandpaper. Fixed the grinding noise I was hearing turning at slow speeds and lessened some minor vibrations I've been feeling. I think remaining vibes have to be driveshaft all the symptoms are pointing me in that direction. I was gonna replace all the U-joints and Carrier Bearing. Not worried about the rear brakes I watched Tim do his a while back didn't seem too bad. But messing with the driveshaft I'm worried about balancing issues.

 

Not a hard job. replace them with Spicer, not Moog or another auto parts store brand. Make sure to mark your shaft to keep in aligned correctly and put all your grease zerks facing the same direction. I have several posts around with the Spicer part numbers.

Yes I pistol AR can be shouldered. If you found something different from the ATF please direct me, but I have seen nothing going against that ruling recently. The only recent thing that has come out is more rulings on forward grips and measuring 26”. @HIghlande2, have you seen anything new on the shouldering of AR pistols?

Got it all set up with a new 300 BLK PSA upper, ordered Wednesday, at my door Friday. Shot it this morning and it’s awesome. But while it cycles fine it will not lock BCG back with an empty mag. Thinking maybe the buffer spring is too heavy? Open to ideas.


As far as shouldering a brace, I thought I’d read somewhere that the ATF changed their stance on it right before Shot Show this year and now you can’t shoulder a brace. I’ll try to find it.

Anytime. I run H2 buffer in pretty much everything. While in my 300 blackouts I have always ran a geissele 42 buffer spring and their H2 buffers. Will be trying something new with the 8” 300 blackout.
