I’m down the road in Apex. Got plenty of tools, done a few CMCs on third gen trucks. There is enough experience in here to get done whatever you need/want.

Okay so I need some help here fellas. Found a “TRD PRO” (SR5) on Craigslist roughly 2 weeks ago, messaged the guy an told him the truck wasn’t actually a pro and was never rude about it, owner replied by telling me he knows what he has and to f*uck off. Somebody help me get it through to this guy. Truck is for sale on Facebook marketplace in High Point, Nc.

What’s the issue ? If you’re looking for a Pro and know that’s not it, there are more out there, why fuss about it ? Move on and let him play with his stickers.

Or is the point that he is misrepresenting something on the internet ? Happens all the time.

    not seeing the issue

My issue with it is I would hate for someone like him that’s completely uninformed come along and think that they are getting a good deal on a TRD PRO. I tried to message him about it and describe the differences and he wasn’t willing to listen to me. Was just hoping anyone else could try the same so he doesn’t end up screwing somebody

Definitely not a PRO just a few stickers. Does have the wheels, rigid lights, pro sticker thing below the mirrors, grill, hood, just to name a few things. I love how this guy says it is in high point, most of the pictures he took was at the wing stop over on windover in Greensboro, and he is lives in Virginia. But whatever to each their own. I agree with you and get what your trying to do, but hopefully people do their research before purchasing, hell even before looking at this vehicle. And hopefully look at the registration or dealer papers while talking with the guy, that will tell you what it truly is without the arguing that I’m sure he would give. With that said, I would totally agree with Kevin not your fight or worth your time and effort. Especially if the KID is going to cuss at you.

I get irritated when people are trying to pass something off as well. No different than than a cloned SS bringing an extra $20K. I think your only recourse is to report it or flag it on Facebook marketplace or craigslist as false advertising. Just report the VIN doesn’t come back as the advertised vehicle.

It does say “costume” I guess, but still bullshit.

I’m with the others. It’s irritating but not much you can do but hope that Facebook will pull the ad.

I’m also over here still laughing at “TRD PRO by Toyota costume”

When he replied to me, every message was a voice message, and he is Hispanic, so I think he’s relying on his phone to translate stuff into text for him (not trying to rip on the guy, at least he is trying to make the post in English). So I feel like the costume is just whatever was translated for him.

Is it still “in” for people to use the Chevy leafs? I was thinking about doing it but not sure if a better option has come up

Not sure I give a f@ck anymore about others thoughts but I am still prepping for it. I need more carrying capacity but don’t want a huge 18-20 leaf pack arch in the back unloaded. They flex well for droop also. I probably need assistance with this one though. As far as other options, they all cost much more money.

What he said^^^ With that said it's a lot of work. There are tons of options out there for the chevy 63 because it is such a used pack for doing leaf type offroad suspensions. There are many different thicknesses and arches to the packs, tons of aftermarket support, etc. If you take the overloads out and run a ton of weight you do run a higher risk of "W" them though. They can be smoother and feel softer than a leaf rated the same just because of the length. I spent months researching leaf packs, shock stuff, etc before I did my swap.

With that there are 2 leaf packs out there that I would consider running stock for weight carrying that I think are a better fit than others those are the Dobinsons and ones made by blackout14. They don't have as many leafs have more arch (less chance of "W" them) and thicker leafs to carry the weight. Now I had the heaviest deavers you could buy they nice thing about having so many leafs is it's more progressive so no-little extra weight they don't ride crazy rough. I would recommend them too but I think the dobinsons and blackout14 ones may be better at least for the cost

Spent the weekend in Asheville and ran across this sweet little ride. Never caught the dude home to ask him about it.

also caught an epic sunset the first night

I’ve got no input on the Chevy leafs besides stop worrying about what other people think when you’re nodding your truck. Prime example, I’m still on a Tacoma forum with a Jeep and a ford power stroke
