We are at Jordan lake camping and the storm came in pretty fast and kind of unexpected. Super heavy rain for a few hours no heavy wind though. It was pretty awesome!

It definitely came in hot and heavy. If I wasn't in the red I probably would have thought it was cool too. I'd imagine that is close to what a tornado/severe hurricane would be like.

I grew up most of life dealing with severe weather and tornadoes warnings. Burlington doesn't get much of that so I enjoy it when we get it. Tornadoes suck but the storm around it is awesome. I might be a partial odd ball though, I enjoy working outside at -40° F. Yall got super heavy winds with the rain then? Any trees down? Damage?

Oh yea, bad winds, hail, rain, and lightning strikes. Several trees down on power lines that Duke Energy is cleaning up as quick as they can. All kinds of chainsaws all around at my neighbors. We are completely covered in towering Pine and Gum trees, easily 75+ft tall, they are just cleared enough to plop the house in and have 10-20ft clear around the house.

Glad it didn't ruin your camping. I love a good rain camping(sleeping)!

Though you said raleigh, your info shows charlotte, so if that's still the case you could talk to the guys at...
BudBuilt - Toyota Skid Plates, Rock Sliders, and Bumpers for Offroad and Overland Adventures

Haven't been there but seem to have a decent reputation.

Depending on what time of day you're coming through the Raleigh area, I'd consider the Pit, Clyde Coopers or Allen and Sons (Chapel Hill)...

I’m a little resentful that this year it seems like all the Thunderstorms are missing us down here on the coast. For the record (talking to you, Mother Nature) that doesn’t mean I want all the hurricanes
