The developer sent letter in response to a neighbor who was trying to sell her house in the "white ghetto" ( her wording ) they sent letter site unseen, asking me to "park my commercial trucks" behind the house per "Covenents" We had lived here about a year when this happened. A mildly built '85 4Runner ( albeit muddy at the time as I had just been to Uwharrie for a long rainy weekend ), and a STOCK '87 Toyota 4x4 reg cab at the time.
They were my daily drivers, no signage, no lettering, and I drove them up and showed them to the agent, and promptly got an apology.
Of course, I now DO have a "commercial vehicle" with signage and nobody has said a word in 10yrs, go figure. and NO, I don't park behind the house.

My previous statements/posts were how things can be perceived, the new folks are under the microscope until they "measure up".

Had an older gentleman living up the street from us, we were friends, he had his opinions, I had mine, we were good. He was retired and was always watching al l the other neighbors, it was amusing, I teased him about how he needed a job or hobby other than minding everyones else business. We got along well.
He's moved away now, living with his daughter somewhere in Clayton.

I'm to the point now, I don't care. I've tried to make nice, I'm the asshole because I wasn't interested in coming up for a beer after work, that fact they were already 7 deep in a 12 by the time I got home was lost on them, I got tired of drunken idiocy the few times i did go. besides, I don't like Bud Light, Natural Light or Miller Lite , so I'm also a stuck up beer prick (maybe I'm just a prick, DGAF), I don't live my life pickled in ethanol, maybe thats the problem.

In more sober moments we had had what I thought were reasonable conversations on yard equipment, I had discussed my desire to have a small utility tractor with bucket. They went out and bought Lowe's JohnDeere's, I bought a Kubota, again I'm stuck up prick out doing the Jone's, never mind the thing was 14years old (will be 20 next year). I cleared and graded the back third of my lot, and now I mow and do what ever I want with the bucket when I want to.

We've been here 16years, most of them have gone away, I wave at the new ones, if they wanna talk, I'm in the last house and usually have "decent" beer and there is usually coffee readily available. I mind my business unless theirs interferes with mine ( last time was firing weapons across my backyard when my daughter was out there, about 5 years ago, he's gone now )

I've got my acre of JoCo, and I stay there.

    the struggle is real

been kicked out of many in the past,

the benefit of having your own yard, you get to water the grass, fill in low spots and wash the truck all at one time.

Some rebar place. Jds supply or something like that. Funny how I've been chilling on this side of NC for the last few days. Picked this load up in Knoxville around 3 this afternoon

When my wife and I were looking for houses 6yrs ago...My first priority was NO HOA. I got more than a few letters at our last house because of the 66 mustang I was restoring.
