Well, since I had to babysit an Airman doing "hard labor" today I figured I'd finally install a project I've been working on. For awhile I've been thinking about putting in dual cameras (rear and forward facing) but the double din I have only had one input and I didn't want to spend the money on a high end system that supported dual cameras or a separate camera system.

First thing I had to find was a camera that could be used both forward and reverse, since reverse cameras are a mirrored image you can't just use a normal back up camera for both. So off to eBay I went, luckily I found EXACTLY what I needed, you choose which mode you want and cut a wire to get the desired effect.

    http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=181695724541&alt=web

Ended up getting 2 for about $20 shipped.

Once I got them I had to make a switch, I used a dual pole dual throw toggle switch I had lying around (I'll replace it once I find one I like). I also had some extra RCA cables lying around to cannibalise for this project.

    This was the result:
    IMG_20160417_203711140.jpg

I tested it with a 12v source and TV to make sure it worked, it did! :bananadance:

I didn't take many pictures while installing all this but it's pretty straight forward. I wired mine to the running lights since I leave them on most of the time, this allows me to use the cameras whenever I want, NOT just in reverse.

I may end up moving the front one, not sure if I like it right there. But it works great, I'll be testing it out more on the way home.

Some may not get the point of this, I mainly wanted it for when I'm in tight spots like small parking lots and parking garages, but it might be nice on trails without a spotter. I still need to do some minor adjustments to get them angled perfect and level.

figure out a DVR type arrangement and you have a slick "dash cam" forward and rear for " if " you may ever need to prove your innocence or come across one of those " you aint gonna believe this shit " moments

A dash cam was the next thing on my list, well one of the next things. I'm not sure how I'd even go about hooking that all up together. Guess I know what I'm going to be looking into for the rest of the day lol

I've been before. It's crazy chaotic but the food is always good if you choose the right trucks...

They do a Wake Forest one that is on a smaller scale that I usually go to. I just don't like the crowds...

kinda obvious who the popular trucks are, and i'm not waiting in a block long line to spend $12 on a sammich or bowl of soup.

we've been, we saw, we tasted, if i see one on the street without a stupid crowd, ill try it, i doubt i'll do the rodeo thing again, though walking around drinking a beer or 2 was fun, would like to catch Pho Nominal somewhere without the huge crowd

Yeah the popular ones get crowded. I haven't had Pho yet but they are scheduled to be out at the golf tourney at my club in a few weekends so I'll get them then. Last year Cousin's was there and it never had a line. You have to pay to get in to the tourney so it helps keep the crowd away since you have to pay to eat the food too. I wouldn't go but I get free tickets since I live on the course.

I've only had Cousin's out of what you named. They are way too expensive for what they give. I get it that it's Lobster. But it's not that fresh, we are in Raleigh...

My favorite "players" are Big Mike's BBQ, Gussy's Greek, Only Burger, Baguettaboutit, and for dessert ya gotta go Wafflology.
