So legit, I've always wanted to do a swap in something (thought about putting a 350 or a 5vze in the 89 when I had it) but it always sounds like such a pain to do, what with the computers and harnesses and that sort of thing. @voz I'm really interested to see how this goes for you, and kinda want your opinion on the headache part of it.

 

I would love to go again but I need to do some heavy maintenance before I take the runner on another long trip. Need cat, timing belt, few bushings, cv's (again), and I wanna replace wheel bearings and lbj's.

Thanks again to @JimboAnz and @Sandman614 for helping me collect parts for my 2012 swap. Excited I say the least. Next is either headlights or hood. Hope to have this done by the end of the year or early next year.

 

Found your hood for $100...and it's black off of a 2015. If I had the truck up here in DC instead of the van, I'd be able to bring it down your way on my way home.

Is it a sport hood or a normal, I got family and friends up that way. Might be able to get myself up there and get it if it's a sport hood.

If you don't mind me asking, how much is all that costing you?

 

Well I'm only $100 into it and I have 3 big pieces. Headlights are 400 although may be more if I do retrofit before swap, hood is 550 or so new, and then I'm figuring anywhere from 400-800 in other various pieces I need. So low ball right now is 2k before paint

 

This would have been done in November when I had my accident but my body shop was dicks and wouldn't do this or even an arm which I know insurance company would have been okay with and I already had signed papers to let them work on it. So I will be finding a new one to do paint this time around

 

Curious, at URE on the bottom ledge on Daniels has anyone Taken a 2nd Gen Double cab up the ledge (not to the right), looks more mello now. Looks fairly possible with real good spotting and maybe some good rock placement (and has to be dry)

 

I bought some aftermarket stock replacement Depo headlights for around 140, used some 3m sealent around seam, and have been great

 

Also guess need to add not running 35's also

I think I've seen those on Amazon. I haven't seen them for 12-15 style lights but I will look again not that I'm on the hunt for them lol.
