A buddy made it custom. Most fab shops can whip them up. I assume by Torrance it is the Torrance in Cali... There is a ton of shops in SoCal. Go to the longtravel thread and ask if anyone knows of a good ship by you or if one of the guys that do garage fab would make you one (and save you cash too)

Yes, it's what's left of the Pro-Comp junk that was installed when I bought it. I'm waiting on the new skid. The factory skid bolts right up, but the Pro-Comp one will not.

Damn, I take it you can't remove it without chopping something up. Typically DB lifts don't gain any ground clearance and can give a rough ride.

I researched my ass off trying to find a way to get rid of the dreaded Pro-Comp DB beer can spacer lift, but nothing was acceptable. I would have to replace what was cut off by cutting it off a donor and weld it back on. It made sense to me to do a SAS if I was going to go through that much trouble. The ride was pretty crappy when I first got it, but I've done allot of work to since then. I put the OME 882's on in anticipation of the added weight of the bumper and winch. Before the bumper install it was pretty stiff but the extra 170lbs plus the dual battery setup tamed it. It still isn't a Cadillac on the road but it's not bad at all. Offroad it works great, I never wheel that hard though. Other than a daily driver I primarily use my truck to access remote areas for hunting/camping.

I mean yeah it'll get you where you need to go but that extra "lift" it gives doesn't gain any ground clearance. Sometimes you just got to live with others' mishaps. Truck still looks good though. I wouldn't go rock crawling with it though.

I agree. My definition of rock crawling is seeing what you can get away with, without breaking something. That is for another project after I retire.
