Well as long as the list keeps going, deleting the quote isn’t a huge deal.

Sounds like buying a tech deck would be faster...

yes, I have done the mods
It sure would be faster. Easier installation, too. But is that really why we do all the mods we do, because it's the easiest?

My issue with a Tech Deck is the installation method - sheet metal screws directly into the dash plastic - rather than the @Lostsheep RAM mount, which has a threaded backing plate. Both mounts block removal of the A/C controls, which is required to remove the stereo, which is required to remove many of the dash panels and do behind-the-dash work. The more you remove and re-thread screws in and out of the plastic, the more the plastic is going to break down and strip out. Eventually, those screws won't hold. Lostsheep's threaded backing plate solves that issue. It can come in and out as many times as needed.

Some users won't care about that, but I do - I seem to have my stereo out a lot whenever I'm running wires to my CB speaker, power to my nav tablet, redoing the backup camera, all the stuff we do here.

Also, lostsheep's mount is less obtrusive than the Tech Deck - if you don't have any accessories mounted, it pretty much disappears, and doesn't block any of the stock controls.
