Don't really want to play favorites but my thinking is to send out a few sets to my local TW members and see how it goes; that or have local pickup in San Jose. If I know one thing about design it's that it never goes right the first time and this will be no different. Further, not everyone will be happy no matter what I do. Something will need changing and as such I'm thinking unanodized sets as beta testers pretty much for free (i.e., bring beer with flavor.) If your in the South Bay and aren't afraid to drill holes hit me up, let's do this. I'm hoping to do a run this week using the material I have on the stock rack.

    ETA: Trades welcome...

you're right, I'm not happy. I would love to beta test but I'm in Canada!

How about I trade you money for it?

    Lol.

It's like this to be frank, I love my TW brethren but my local silicon valley customers pay better. I want to make these for those of you who are interested but it's a side gig. I'm fortunate in that I own my own mill but tech companies pay my bills.

Im definitely up for this. I currently have the Panavise mount and I like the location of it, but its not as sturdy as id like it to be. This definitely seems like a better alternative.

Edit: Im in Los Angeles... Thats close enough right? lol.

I'm making something similar to the piece you made with parts from McMaster-Carr. I'm using an M6 female to 1/4-20 male adapter and a 40mm M6 threaded rod. McMaster doesn't offer an M6 male to 1/4-20 female. It's $17 before shipping with the bulk of the price being the adapter. The threaded rods come in a 5 pack. 18-8 stainless. When the rod is threaded into the adapter, I have just a hair more length than the original bolt. The adapter is a 1/2" hex. I can post part number if anyone wants. RAM makes mounts in ball size A and B with 1/4-20 female threads. I don't know the depth of the thread on the RAM mounts but the male thread on the adapter is 5/8", so should be plenty for if I need to cut it down some.

Check out the CAD designs on page 1. The part is congruent to either side of the AC controls.

Oopsy! ... and the only problem that I see is that I spent close to an hour going through the thread compiling the list. I'm not perfect.

    You're welcome.
