Lastly before I leave this thread for the night; I'm all ears about what the TW community thinks these things are worth. I did the initial run not expecting the interest I received and just can't justify continuing to make them for the initial price. I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way but my day to day work for silicon valley tech pays a bit better.

Feel free to make reasonable offers but please keep in mind that these things aren't my day job, short run machining isn't cheap, these are 3 OP parts with a 4th axis for tapping the holes at 3 different angles (not even counting the backing plates), they are anodized, and they come with stainless hardware. If people want to make their own backing plates, buy them one at a time, supply hardware, or deal with raw aluminum, we are open to offers.

All that being said I will make this final offer for all of you on the West Coast; follow me through a respectable wheeling trail, and I'll trade you for cold beer

First is being tested but so far so good. It looks like we need to make a slight hardware change but this change will improve their appearance in my opinion.

We're going to change from 1/4-20 SHC to 10-32 Flat. Final will also be anodized black.

    Here's where we are at:

Can I ask if anyone gave up their Teck Deck and got these?

    How are you liking them?

Would you make one of these for the Tacomas, that’s on top?

I’ll have to think about that because I’m not too sure how to measure the curves on top but let me see what I can do.

Can I hold a tablet or iPad securely? Thinking about getting one in the near future but only really interested if it can securely hold a tablet while overlanding.

I ran about 135 miles all offroad through Capitol Reef and Grand Staircase Escalante with lots of washboard roads carrying an 8.4" Samsung tablet hanging off of mine and it worked very well. Post #860 has a low quality video of it in Escalante. The only problem is that you have to make sure that the weight isn't trying to loosen the RAM ball threads from the weight.

ETA: The arm holding my tablet was one of the extended arms and I kept it mounted with the arm hanging between 1 and 5 off to the right.

    Never enough
I was running into the issue you mentioned where you have to position the arm so it doesn’t loosen the ball. I found that a dab of the blue Loctite was enough to allow me to position the arm as I pleased. It has held up holding a 10” tablet over hundreds of miles of dirt with no issues. You may want to give that a try!

Just got mine in today and installed them. Didnt tuck them all the way up in the corner like you did (cause I am an idiot) However, it sits flush with the sides of the console. Needless to say I am happy and excited to get the ram mount actually installed and hit the trails.

Just got a set in and installed. These things are works of art. I think I did the same thing as ^^^ . A bit of trimming behind the scenes ensued.

Finally got everything installed! I really like my Scosche dash mount and found that if I use the smaller 9/16 ball and arm it matches magnetic mount perfectly.

you don't find your phone has problems with cellular and GPS reception that deep in the metal cab of your truck ? I know I do in fringe areas like dense forests... the phone GPS works best if its up under the wide open windshield, and only sorta OK if its in front of the upper dash.

Call me old fashioned, but I rarely use GPS. Cell reception has been excellent, but I also live in a major metro area. I have yet to truly test it.
