I'm kinda surprised no one has 3-D printed this yet. Maybe not strong enough?

If Birddawg would add some wings that wrapped around in front of their Tech Deck, they wouldn’t be able to make enough.

yes, I have done the mods
I dunno how a 3d-printed material would hold up to metal threads from a RAM ball. Would probably depend on the material it was printed with.

But to avoid threading anything in to it, I did model this up:

1" ball and mic holder built in. This is how I use mine , I imagine other configurations would be pretty easy. I do still have the 3D models from the original machined version.

Then we'd just have to come up with a good method for the backing plates. The originals were just some 1/4" aluminum stock with tapped holes. We'd have to figure a way to keep hardware in place behind that plastic wall.

Not gonna lie I been playing around at work with some files. Currently printing some test pieces to try for fun as work gives me some access to basic 3d printers. I been checking quotes just to see about making a one time batch for those who still wanted it and so I could get a set. Problem is OP was giving a steal of a deal, quotes I have gotten are high unless I Order a lot. I’m looking at seeing if printing will be strong enough with threaded inserts.
Some teasers just playing around might not be strong enough. Please don’t pm me with wanting to order this as I am just playing around at this time and making my own since the op gave us the 1-1 drawings to do so. C0F144DD-B243-4742-93F5-19041F775A1C.jpg

just got a quote back from a local shop that seems promising if enough ppl are interested. If you dig enough you can find the the 1-1 pdf you will have to add in the rest which Isn't hard.

I mean, I have the CAD file from the very original. Who's shopping it around to machine shops?

yeah cad files weren't posted, but I know he sent a couple out to ppl who wanted to make there own or print. I used the 1-1 and made my own cad files.

I sent a couple shops quotes first two where $100-125 per mount yikes :anonymous:. So then I jumped into the rabbit hole of printing them due to cost. Got all fancy with the above picture seeing if it will work. Should have it printed this week. Another shop messaged me back and the qoute came back reasonable if we have a group buy of about 50 sets.

My buddy has one of the originals and I played with it some at a mod day and made me realized I wanted a set. Find out they are no longer made. So I jumped into this only cause I want a set for myself. :goingcrazy:
