no experience with that actual winch but an 8000 lbs would be just fine on a 1st gen. may i recommend the smittybuilt brand though. good winch and a great price!! several people i know are running them with no complaints.. i've got the 10k version on mine and love it....

well i was going to ask around but evidently it just hooks into your powersteering pump. I am obviously not sold on the idea yet as i have some questions still. I may call Warn. I wondered if i was going to have to get a heftier pwersteering pump or if there is certain vehicles it works on. not sure. if it works it would be the way to go. not electrics to mess with and you can run it 24/7 without loss of productivity as long as the engine is running. they said on the site that ranchers use them a lot because of the constant use they need. IDK, what you think?

I have a Ramsey Rep 8000 on my '08. It's on it's third vehicle in 12 years and still going strong.

well i've been completly happy with my smittybuilt so far.... used it in quite a few recoveries.. i'm running some amsteel blue synthetic cable and it was right around the same price as the winch...

i'm getting ready to add one to the rear now also since i've got the bumper done, i plan on getting the exact same setup on the rear that i have on the front.

I have a 8000# ramsey on my jeep that was on my dad's 4runner, and his old scout. it will be on my taco soon. it has yet to fail and has been used MANY times! the only drawback is that they are slow.
you can kinda see it here

My winch is mounted on a Warn hitch mount. I have receivers both front & rear along with wiring jacks so the winch goes either end dependent on need.
