I went w/ 5100 and OME 885 springs in the front when I did the install. Money well spent as the original shocks were on 120k miles.

Sold My Subaru, thanks for the info. What's the impact of the bumper on your tires, gas mileage, braking distance, etc. Which tires are you ridding? If you don't mind, what's the cost of the suspension upgrade? Also, which vendor did you buy the upgrade from? Thanks.

Its really not that much weight to be concerned with. Think of it like driving with the weight of an extra person in your car.

I wouldn't make that comparison. Most passengers don't ride on the front bumper. All the weight so far forward will make a difference in ride and handling. OP I would suggest OME 884 coils if you want a beefy front bumper. This will give you more payload without much of a lift (if that's what you're looking for)

So I haven't had negative impacts on my ride quality from adding the bumper at all. My braking and handling is the same. The wipers are doing a lot more work now keeping the windscreen free of panties that are getting dropped and flung in my general direction.

I've been rolling on 3'rd gen take-off Goodyear Kevlars until this winter when I changed over to Falken Wildpeak AT3w. I have driven on the AT3W in the 245/75R16 variety in an E-load flavor as a dedicated winter / Baja tire and loved them. I opted for a set of 265/70R16 in a P-metric load and have 0 complaints.

MPG's are a high of 20 doing 65 on the HWY for a full tank, even with this winter fuel. I had a low of 15 when I was towing my stake-side trailer with my 1000 LB slide in camper in my bed two weeks ago. So that's the full gamut there.

I went with fully assembled 5100's / 885 OME Springs through headstrong offroad. They had the best price at the time and the customer service with them is great. Would recommend without hesitation.

Like I said before my suspension was due to be refreshed and I gained ~2.5" up front with the 885 springs. A full list of my truck MODS are below my sig box below the best GIF on TW.

Sold My Subaru, thanks for your kindness. It's obvious I have changed my mind about the Fab Fours bumpers. Thanks to you. I contacted Headstrong and had a chat with Matt who suggested the following kit because I am replacing both front and rear bumpers:

    https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/s...mu_Kit_w/_Dakar_Leaf_Pack_-_05-15_Tacoma.html

    upload_2020-3-2_22-23-18.jpg
I also contacted LowRange Offroad in Utah which has an identical kit:

    Any thoughts on this kit?

    Thanks.

You can't go wrong with it. You could save a few bucks and get the kit with 5100 shocks instead. But that is a fantastic kit.

Thanks, especially for your thoughtful insight on ARB's bumper weight:
"Most passengers don't ride on the front bumper. All the weight so far forward will make a difference in ride and handling"

You hit the nail, intellectually, on the head. Cheers!

I’m just stoked for you based on the fact that Tacomaworld is now a resource to help you get answers and direction for your rig.

Keep us posted on how it all shakes out!

In regards to the OME kit you’re checking out; it’s a great option. OME shocks pair best w/ OME springs without a doubt. You’ll be very happy with that setup.

I recommend you do your research on the ECGS bushing and replace the drivers side needle bearing in your T-case with one when you do this suspension work. 99% of all the voices on this forum will resonate this advice.

Thanks. I think Tacoma World is great forum to float ideas, especially by Tacoma illiterates like me. If 'T-case' means transfer case, then I don't have one because my truck is a Prerunner, 2x4 drive train.

    Hello Everybody,

So I decided to pull the trigger and contacted Headstrong Offroad for a quote for the following from Marie:

    1) Your choice of OME coils (2886)
    2) Your choice of OME nitrocharger sport struts (90000 firm)
    3) OME trim packer (for drivers side lean)
    4) OME nitrocharger sport rear shocks – 60091
    5) OME Dakar full lift leaf pack replacement – Heavy Duty
    6) OME ubolts
    7) OME carrier bearing drop bracket
    8) OME bushings and sleeves
    9) Strut and Coil assembly
    10) ARB front bumper (ARB 3423140) ---> Thanks to Sold My Subaru for indirectly steering me to ARB
    11) ARB 6821201
    12) Fab Fours rear bumper (TT05-Y1351-1)

With regards to the suspension upgrade, a friend of mine contacted me and inquired why I am not going the Leveling Kit route and gave me the the following link of a Taco owner who did a 2-inch leveling kit after installing an ARB Deluxe bumper. The video is an assessment of his taco two years after installing the ARB bumper.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQ4omswt5SE

Any thoughts on the leveling approach? Money is not an issue. I just don't want to go overboard since I am not an offroader.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Cheers

I think you made a very wise choice going with a fab bumper. You picked a good looking one too

    Unneccesary for city driving? Yes.

If money is not an issue.. go for it. Who knows, maybe you'll offroad more now.
