Don't cast right into them. Cast past them and reel your bait slowly into the area of the water column they're in. What time are you getting into bb approximately? Need to know what time I need to be back at camp

THE SECOND ANNUAL RCRC LATE-SUMMER CAMP AND WHEEL EXTRAVAGANZA
Date: Friday Sept 23rd - Sunday Sept 25th
Location: San Gorgonio Campground off of Hwy 38 on the way to Big Bear

    Trail Run - Sat 9/24 Trail Leader @Bman4X5 - (hard /4x4 only)
Clark's Grade to Skyline Drive to Jacoby Canyon to Burns Canyon 36 miles 7hrs.

Let's remember, we are all friends and family so let's treat everyone with dignaty and respect. Wives, girlfriends, children and other campers will be camping with us so, let's have fun and build life long friendships and memories. We will be 15 min away from town, 2 min away from off-road so if we forget anything there's no need to worry. I'v e lost track of who's going so add your name to the list and if you booked your on spot add your spot #number. If you are showing up for a day run, add your name with a *. As we get closer we'll try and organize trail runs, food and supplies. The majority of us have hand held ham radios to use in close proximity. If you can afford 35 dollars I would suggest getting one, but it's not required. It's more fun but not required. A few members have also offered their spare radios up.

    Ham radio freq. 151.941

    Effective September 2, 2016:
San Bernardino National Forest fire restrictions restrict building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire or stove fire. There are no wood or charcoal fires. Individuals with a valid California Campfire Permit may use either a propane, gas cooking stove or lantern.

Forest visitors are encouraged to call or visit the Ranger Station to check on location conditions and restrictions: San Bernardino National Forest Supervisor's Office, 602 S. Tippecanoe Ave., San Bernardino, CA, (909) 382-2600.

No wood fires we can still use a propane camp fire & grill.

Do we still want to have a potluck BBQ on Saturday?
Who has a propane grill they can bring?

    Propane Champ Fire Bran4x4 (1)

Hey everyone. Nick @Crom and I will be leading a run on Saturday. I plan on departing at 7:00AM sharp. That alone should keep this group manageably small:D Here are the details:
    - 4x4 only. Last spring I scraped my IFS skid, but just barely. Aggressive 2x4s might make it (Ron), but I'm not into recoveries caused by folks exceeding their truck's limits. Yea...I'm old.
    - Ham Freq: 151.940 Handheld units are cheap, and make spotting easier.
    - We will begin very close to our campground by ascending Clark's Grade, colloquially known to some of last year's participants as Devil's Ridge:eek: The grade leads us onto Skyline Drive, a very easy but beautiful cruise along a high ridge. Skyline ends near the north end of Big Bear City.
    - A couple of pavement miles leads us to Jacoby Canyon. Short but sweet.
    - A few more pavement miles and we'll be at Burns Canyon. Mostly easy to moderate, but a few sections require precise wheel placement. IFS skids and sliders a good idea.

Plan on stopping for lunch along the Burns Canyon trail. Total dirt miles: 36 Total time: approx 7 hrs

Friday evening. Going with zero camping gear this time. Keeping it minimalist and sleeping in the truck haha.

So what's the food situation? Are we just bringing our own? Or potluck like we did last year?
