I also have 2 handhelds that can be loaned for those without HAM. Im down for either run but if the first is 4x4 required then ill take the 2nd run i guess.

On another note, i am hoping to receive all my orders needed to build the first few on board water kits before the trip. If that works out, i can bring kits with me if anyone is interested let me know. Any kits sold at the meet will be 10% off so $180 total. Just let me know ahead of time so i can have them ready

I'm interested. I like your clean setup from what I've seen in pictures. I need to check it out live to verify I can tap into it somewhere to get hot water for showers flowing.

Definitely. Will you be in Big Bear? If the tacoma model sells pretty good ill happily put in the time to build a 4 runner kit. What i have designed is already pretty universal. The only thing i would need to possibly change is the length of tubing and maybe small variations in the wire harness. I have 4runner, FJC, and Jeep in mind for the next models. What gen is your T4R?

This would be easy to do. The water intake on the pump is routed to a brass quick disconnect mounted in the bed. From there we have a 300 micron stainless steel strainer for filtration connected to a 6 foot long food grade 1/4" Vinyl tube with an open end. This tube is whats dropped into a jug, rotopax, jerry can, etc. The open end could just be connected to the output of a tankless hot water heater or heat exchanger in the future with no modification to the kit required. a heater may require larger tubing as high as 3/8 or 1/2 which can be easily changed out on the kit or an adapter can be added to step up the connection. Its an easy add on. Thats why i really like this kit so much is its so versatile to fit everyones specific needs and customizations with little work

Oh snap. That sounds easy peezy! Stoked to check this out. I'll be using reclaimed heat from my radiator using a plate and frame heat exchanger (as you know from our previous correspondence on the overlander thread). I'm headed to death valley for a week in November. I sure as shit want to be equipped with hot showers for my girl and I by then.

THE SECOND ANNUAL RCRC LATE-SUMMER CAMP AND WHEEL EXTRAVAGANZA
Date: Friday Sept 23rd - Sunday Sept 25th
Location: San Gorgonio Campground off of Hwy 38 on the way to Big Bear

    Planned Trail Runs
    #1) 7am Sat 9/24 Trail Leader @Bman4X5 - (hard /4x4 only)
Clark's Grade to Skyline Drive to Jacoby Canyon to Burns Canyon 36 miles 7 hrs.

#2) 9am Sat 9/24 Trail Leader @dtaco06 white mountain, moderate, 4wd required for steep, loose rocky hill climbs. Stock 4wd doable.3-5 Hrs

Let's remember, we are all friends and family so let's treat everyone with dignity and respect. Wives, girlfriends, children and other campers will be camping with us so, let's have fun and build life long friendships and memories. We will be 15 min away from town, 2 min away from off-road so if we forget anything there's no need to worry. I'v e lost track of who's going so add your name to the list and if you booked your on spot add your spot #number. If you are showing up for a day run, add your name with a *. As we get closer we'll try and organize trail runs, food and supplies. The majority of us have hand held ham radios to use in close proximity. If you can afford 35 dollars I would suggest getting one, but it's not required. It's more fun but not required. A few members have also offered their spare radios up.

    Ham radio freq. 151.941

    Effective September 2, 2016:
San Bernardino National Forest fire restrictions restrict building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire or stove fire. There are no wood or charcoal fires. Individuals with a valid California Campfire Permit may use either a propane, gas cooking stove or lantern.

Forest visitors are encouraged to call or visit the Ranger Station to check on location conditions and restrictions: San Bernardino National Forest Supervisor's Office, 602 S. Tippecanoe Ave., San Bernardino, CA, (909) 382-2600.

No wood fires we can still use a propane camp fire & grill.

Do we still want to have a potluck BBQ on Saturday?
Who has a propane grill they can bring?
