    White gas
It's lantern fuel you can get it at Walmart. It comes in the one gal tin box. It looks like a big can of paint thinner.

The earlier models of gas lanterns and stoves would only burn white gas, or now called Coleman Fuel I think, whereas the newer versions will also burn automotive gasoline. Both kinds require pressurizing the fuel tank with a plunger type pump. Now most people use propane as it is easier and less messy.
The advantage IMO is with a gallon can of white gas you can run for a lot longer than with a couple of small propane cylinders.

I just got me a midland 75-822, plus I just ordered a magnetic antenna. Getting ready for the tip. I also have a ham hand held.

do you guys think I'll need to tune the magnetic antenna?

Might, some come "pre-tuned" and aren't adjustable. What do the instructions / paperwork that came with the antenna say?
If you don't and the VSWR is way bad you can potentially burn out the transmitter from too much reflected power coming back into the radio. I have a VSWR meter we can use if needed.

I got the radio, I waiting for the antenna. It should get here by next week. It's the lil wil magnetic antenna. I went with the small one.
I was debating with myself on the following.

    1. Lil Wil (magnetic)
    2. Wilson 1000 (magnetic)
    3. Firestk.

I kept reading that the magnetic antennas are better. The car works like a dish and you get better reception. But I just wanted to test the waters nothing too permanent.

You should be good with the magnet mount. I have the Wilson 1000 and had a perfect swr reading of 1.1 . You get a good ground with the mag mount which is key
