I agree. Let Rancho stick to the Big 3. They do better like that.

Get the Billy 5100 series (or higher) Toytec, OME

+1- Never really been impressed with Rancho stuff. Bilstien are great replacements or for a little bit of lift. OME is great too- I used their lift coils and what not...but that's not the only options.

no lift, if possible, as of right now... i think a nice ride as well as offroad capability would be preferable...

If you want no lift but you want to offroad and think you might want to lift down the road- I'd got with the Bilstien 5100's. They are adjustable height- so you can level or lift the front a bit if you want.
The OME shocks are best paired with the OME coils...but those are lift coils.

The TRD Billys are garbage compared to the 5100s....I've got the TRD shocks and I can't wait to slap the OME set up I bought in there.

    You want what?

    RONCHOS ?? (laugh)

I had some Rancho's on my 96 tacoma years ago. They rode pretty stiff (compared to stock) , one of them leaked (under warrantee, got it replaced), and if you offroad at all, they don't last very long at all. I replaced mine only after 1 year of usage.

There are tons of shocks on the market and I think anything is better than Ranchos!!!

For a cheaper shock - I've been using Doetsch Tec on my Jeep Wranger. Very impressed with them for the cost. The Prerunner shocks have been kicking ass for several years now and I love the fact they have a 'bumpstop' built-in.

im running the the quick lift by rancho witch can be hooked up to the my ride system but u can adjust them manualy as well they got 9 settings so if you hit the woods u can stiffen or loosen what ever u prefer in the woods im running them on my 07 fj and 06 taco and i think there killer.you can change the springs or use the stock ones, onley takes a couple hours to install no diffrent then changing regular shocks. iv read a lot of neg stuff about rancho but the new 9000 seires are pretty killer so thats just my 2 cents

rs9000 with my ride controller. BFG rugged terrain 2012 tread style.
I installed the rancho rs9000 with the (My Ride). I have to say the on the fly adjustment is awsome. Used them in the 2004 double cab for hunting and being able to hit the offroad button or drop front and rear to zero for a super quiet ride is awsome and then set it to work/tow/haul mode when that big old elk is in the back of my truck.
But it still could use air lift in the back for those big loads just to even it out. The stock TRD tuned tokico were rough and abs would kick the truck ass end out to the right on really rough roads

Defroster mod, Bilstein 5100s front, Adjustable Ranchos rear.
I have the Rancho RS9000's on the ass end of my rig. I do not have the wireless. I have to adjust mine manually but it only takes 2 seconds per side. I simply reach around the tire and turn the little red knob. It's a 9 way adjustment. I normally ride on the 4 setting. I crank it to 8 when towing my boat and all the way to 9 when towing and a load in the bed. This provides an in control ride and eliminated the bottoming out.

I'm sure the Bilstein 5100's do have better ride control than the Ranchos when set at the soft ride setting but the Bilsteins are not adjustable and can't go extra firm like the Rancho 9000's can.
