You know the sound your truck makes when you get in it, and fire it up, the beep? Or the Manual trans guys will also recognize it as the beep that is emitted when you put the truck in reverse... Well, my truck just started doing that beep randomly yesterday.

I drove around for a bit to see if I could isolate exactly WHEN it would beep, but it was completely random... Somtimes just beep once, at most, it beeped 12 times consecutively. There are no SES lights on, there's nothing in my passenger's seat, and I'm NOT in reverse...

Anyone had this problem? or heard of a fix?

I'm not sure where to start looking... Perhaps the passenger seat seatbelt sensor, but the blinking light isn't coming up on the dash...

    Ideas???

    Am I the only one???

Does that mean there's no TSB for this? :)

Did you ever figure out the beeping. Mine has done that twice and there are never any dash lights on either. It's the same sound the traction control makes when it's activated.

You're in the 2nd gen forum. Your 3rd gen has a lot more nannys and electronic doohickeys than ours. Try posting in the 3rd gen forum.

I didn't see a reply, so I thought I'd chime in, so to speak.
I have an '08 Access cab, with the 6-speed manual transmission.
My reverse sensor was replaced a few weeks ago, and the random beeping started right afterward. It made the same sound as when I shift into reverse.
My mechanic replaced the new reverse sensor with another, and the random beeping stopped.

    Regards,
    Steve

Wait the third gens beep when you put them in reverse?!?!? I know third gen owners are a little “slower” than the rest of us but I always thought moving backwards was always a good enough indicator you were in reverse, I didn’t know you need a warning beep aswell
