Okay. You are saying when the doors lock or unlock the lights dim lightly and/or briefly correct? Do they dim the same way if you turn on the head/tail lights with the engine not running? What you may be seeing is a brief voltage drop because something else has been switched on. The door locks work with a solenoid that pulls a good bit of juice and that can cause the lights to dim. If your headlights happen to be on when you start your truck you will see them dim a lot because the starter is pulling a lot of juice. Same thing here, but on a smaller scale. Just my 2¢.

So a $400-700 part gets fried because of some $30 LEDs? Something doesn't sound right. And nothing else is wrong with my truck. I'm going to put the old ones back in tomorrow and see what happens. And who's liable for the damages? Meso for making the product and not having instructions or Running 4 Tacos for selling them without any instructions?

It only takes 45 seconds to pop the over head console off and unplug it, then change everything from the back like you are suppose to do , never need to open the hood, don't know why people take the long way to do things at times . Its only held on by some push snaps, just grab it and pull down.

BUT i almost did that when i changed mine out , and OP / sorry i think
    you fried something, hope not...

    I'd say you're liable.

I just installed Bilstein 6112"s, they came with no instructions. If I fucked something up that's on me. If I want to offload that risk I have to pay someone else to perform the work.

You guys are funny. Does anyone do any real troubleshooting? I put some different LEDs in and the flicker is gone. Although now, if I turn both map lights on, once I click the second map light, my dome light flickers. Which is also a Meso ultimate dome light. I don't think there's really anything wrong. I bet there's an inrush of either current or voltage that causes the blink because there isn't enough resistance in the Meso parts. Fried a BCM with some plug and play parts? SMH. More troubleshooting will continue.

Haha, fixed it with some $3 resistors. 5W 150 Ohm in case anyone is wondering. I researched some of the older threads. The 01-04's had a similar issue and a 4W 100 Ohm fixed those. My local electronics store didn't have any so I tried the 5W on a whim. Wired one in parallel with each of the Meso map lights and voila. All back to normal. Everything dims correctly. Turn on when doors open and off when closed. And best of all, no more blinking when the doors lock or unlock. Thanks anyway TW!

My map lights have blinked since the day I got my truck, I can hit the power mirror switch and they would blank or even the window buttons more noticeable at night really don't notice it during the day. Never had any of the issues from that

    Glad they’re fixed.

I have a 2016 and put in cheap Chinese LED lights and map lights two months after I bought the truck and haven’t had a problem with them, so maybe the 2018’s are a little more finicky

But they are no where near as bright as the Meso's.

I have a similar issue, sort of.
Of all things, adjusting the lumbar support on the power seat in my 2020 causes the map and dome lights to flicker on dimly.

Yes, I disconnected the battery when I installed them. Is my truck going to explode?

Happens to me too. When the door locks auto lock at speed the map and dome lights will faintly blink.

I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this. Resistors did the trick.

Sorry for reviving this but figured I would speak up. My 2020 lumbar button also causes the led map and dome lights (both meso brand) flicker when the switch is initially activated and when i release it. Not sure what it is yet

So this is resolved but wanted to add that LED flicker and even hard blinking is indicative to resistance. Some will pair halogens and LEDs on the same circuit to maintain resistance
