    You can disable the AC to run in auto in the vehicle settings menu. It's enabled by default.

    Wait. On the temp dial it reads auto but the green led light indicator is not on. Is the AC still running? When I turn off the fan then the temperature data is off completely.

    Yes, in the Auto Mode the AC will run. The green indicator is to let you know you manually (switch position) tuned it on. In auto, the green indicator will not illuminate.

    No, that is just talking about the temperature control in manual mode. The temp control always works regardless of Manual or Auto modes.

    In auto mode, the AC system is commanded to run.

    Read page 645, it shows the setting to determine where the AC runs in auto mode or not. It's enabled on by default
