Dont let them get to you.

I dumped my truck after a year and a half of ownership because I couldn't take the bullshit anymore. If these trucks run for 500K miles, then they'll do it kicking and screaming the entire way. Yes, the transmissions are clunky as hell. There is a tuner on here thats making a small fortune on tacoma owners by fixing the busted engine/transmission combo. Quite a few folks were low on AT fluid from the factory (I dont know if thats been fixed yet). There are several TSBs out for AT clunkiness, squeaky leaf springs, noising body mounts, feeling a rumble-strip sensation when stopping, brake pedal buzzing, flute-like control arms, and a rear differential that howls like a banshee down the highway.(Hint: Toyota TSBs dont usually "fix" anything. They are bandaids that have mediocre success rates)

Dont forget the slip-yoke slam you'll get from the rear-end when its cold out. Typically greasing that remedies that problem for a while. People commonly misdiagnose that as axle wrap.

lol its almost as if you are referring to yourself boynoyce ;)

All of those things I posted have been confirmed or validated by Toyota via TSBs or by several unrelated posters on these forums.

Dont get mad at me for spoiling your love affair with the turd gen.

I came here looking for Ford Ranger updates. I am banned from the mega thread though. Dunno what I did but its been that way for a while. This forum is and always has been a great community. Yourself included you saucy minx.

The Subaru is fantastic. I haven't had a single issue with it. My biggest complaint is that the radio interface (which is the same one thats in the Tacoma) seems to be running on an underpowered CPU. The tacoma was pretty snappy and the outback has a bit of a lag between some inputs. :notsure:

Oh, I did get an automatic extended warranty for the transmission in the mail. Apparently the CVTs can fail or have issues. I'll cross that bridge if I get to it. At least its not rage-inducing to drive on a daily basis.

All that just to make the same point I made with 10 words? Dude.....

Back to the Subie forums with you Tacolingus....if you hang around here too long they’ll notice and take away your PBS bumpersticker, your Indigo Girls fan club badge and your Orange is the New Black DVD box set.

I had an early '17 Subaru Forester which after 13 months was taken back in a lemon law suit. Now I have an '18 Tacoma....wish I had bought it sooner, one heck of a tough truck. Period.

It turns out that U-Bolts are important and that they should probably be on the truck. And also that most people don't know anything about recovery.
