Dealers add stuff to vehicles all the time. What kind of options were listed on the truck?

Do you have a power tailgate lock? Looks like the pop&lock harness.

Looks like the cable from my tailgate lock that came on my truck "from the factory". However the positioning is all wrong. there is no reason for it to be higher than the dead pedal as it taps in behind that kick panel. :notsure:

My guess is it is more likley an alarm, as mentioned by @James_Bond.

Additionally, it would apear to be added at the dealer. A dealer that employs a mechanic that could not be bothered to crawl out from under the dash and get a zip tie or two and just used the string that happened to be laying within arm's reach to secure the wire under the dash. :bored:

Maybe read the writing on the wire, and see what it says. That might give some clue as to its function...

....AND...this is crazy I know...take a moment to look under the dash and see what it is connected to?

That has to be a some sort of aftermarket or dealer option...the inline fuse holder is a dead giveaway. Anything from the factory is fused in one of the two fuse boxes. Just out of curiosity, what is the value for the blade fuse?

I have done 0 aftermarket adds to this truck. And I got it from the dealer with less than 5 miles on it. I have no idea what this is.
