I've got a Tonneau Cover which makes it impossible for it to happen. People are azzholes so there's not much you can do about it but bitch moan and complain or come up with a solution. Look at the bright side. Your still in college and rocking a 2011 Tacoma. Beats the sh*t out of the 8 year old POS Dodge full size I drove in college. Damn thing was a pig and the damn bums would always break into the storage box in the bed. Fortunately I didn't lose anything important but I did just resort to leaving a note inside that read. "EMPTY A$$HOLE."

Back at my HS the guys that thought they were super cool would hang in the parking lot and blast music out of their shitty ricers or trucks (The subs/systems they put in usually cost more than what they paid for their cars.) and would throw their mcdonalds trash in the bed of the other trucks in the parking lot.

when they did it to mine, I took all of the trash and put it into a plastic bag...
Walked into the "head cool-guy"'s class, grabbed his bag
Put the mcdonalds into said bag
walked outside and put the bag in the trash.

*insert Cool Story, Bro picture here

They never put shit in my truck again. :D

we had a party at my new (college) house like the first week we moved in. ended up getting away from some of the assholes that always show up at parties and sat on the tailgate and chilled for parts of the night. next morning got up and there was my truck, full of beer cans, half of which had rolled out into the street lol. neighbors across the road still give me bad looks sometimes haha.

I generally toss beer cans in the back of mine....this actually works out good for me. The crackheads in the west end of Davenport (where I work) take them to the recyclers for me. I actually got rid of some old soffit and an aluminum screen door that way also. Shit like tin-foil wouldn't necessarily bother me but I did find a half-eaten Milky Way back there that kinda torqued me off (melted to the bed mat).

If there's open containers in the bed, is it still illegal?
    Always wondered
