Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
I see what your saying. So you would have to make your top bend smaller than the bottom for the look your going for, so the middle area that is raised is more parrallel with the sides of the grill, and there would be a even reveal on the side lip, unlike his where it is tapered. Looking foward to seeing how it comes out.

chrome on front painted to match, satoshi grill done by myself, BHLM, billys all the way around with ome springs upfront and LR ucas with wheelers 3 leaf progressive pack in the rear, mb gunner wheels powdercoated black on 285/75r16 nitto trail grapplers, tinted all the way around and on windshield, pioneer dbl din touch screen with two 10's behing the seat and new speakers all the way around and certain interior parts painted to match, also have a road wire leather kit black with red stitching sitting here waiting for me to find time to install it!
yes in theory but i will take more of a look at that when i get to that point but because of the way the grill has the weird curves i am not 100% it will look good.. like it will probably look funny having the top bend smaller the the bottom...

    I love this!

I want to do it but I am scared I will destroy my grill, but 2 PIAA 500 Black magics would look outstanding in the grill.

By buy a second grill do you mean the grill insert? If so that is a great idea.

I wonder what my land lord will think of me fiber glassing in my apartment :D

On my 2012 SR5 the grille surround is the chromed plastic. What would it take to get one (or make mine) the body color which is Sage Mica (dark green with a gold base)? Eliminating the chrome and the simple clean black mesh grille insert would do wonders in my opinion. I have a front plate bumper, so there is no longer a "lower grille" in my case.

How is the quality of the parts geek grill, any noticeable differences vs. OEM?

Sand it, clean very well, adhesion promter then primer. Sand again with high grit or wet sand to get the paint perfectly flat, clean again. Spray with colormatch and then clear. For a factory finish wait a week or two, then wetsand and polish then wax. Or just buy one lol. If your ganna do it on your own i would recomend not using duplicolor. Use paintscratch.com or automotivetouchup.com. If you want a real nice durable finish order a can of 2k clear coat.

for the grill surround i had the chrome also and i just took it to a paint and body guy and he painted it to match my truck and for the mesh grill i am thinking about making a few in my spare time and offering them if people are interested... good thing about that is if prople do have the color matched grill already then the surround actually just comes apart its held together by screws and clips!!
    here is mine with chrome

after it was color matched and a couple more mods:D

Which specific mesh product did you choose (link please)?

How much did the chrome paint match by your paint guy cost you?

How much did the letters cost?
