Just a FYI........The 98+ tach clusters are definitely "not" as rare as the 95-97 4 cyl tach cluster with the speedo cable, but this is still a great deal.

I have a 98 sr5 3.4 manual. With NO tachometer. I bought a 97 4runner cluster and the ribbons where completely different. Is it possible to use a cluster out of another 3.4 manual or do I have to run an aftermarket tach?

As long is it out of V6, if yours is manual and you use an auto it will have the gear selection part in the cluster but it will still work.

I might just keep looking for a manual tach. The auto is probably going to drive me crazy and wouldn't the ribbons be different auto vs manual? That doesn't make sense imo

^^Thanks Eric, cool meetin ya too n im glad you got a workin tach! Waitin to see ya go LT! Tom, Ive heard if you use a 4runner speedo, theres alot of rewiring and soldering to do. 97.5-04 taco speedos are all plug n play, BUT engine size and at/5spd specific. Check out the initial links i posted n search for partouts and ebay for the specific speedo. Sorry for the late response, been cheatin on T4R...
