The mouse ingests a small amount of plaster. It sets up in their gut. If another animal eats the rodent, it can handle a tiny bit of crunchy plaster.

I once had a mouse run across the floorboard and my feet while I was driving. I got home, set a trap and caught him 2 mins later. But then paid an $800 bill at the dealer for the dash to be removed and the nest cleaned out.....and the blower motor wires replaced.

I fluid film mine as well, I wonder if it works as a deterrent for these pesky critters?

I'd prefer to choose where to dispose of the carcasses than to have rats eating plaster then curling up to die and feed magots hidden away in some corner of my truck, garage or house.

I wonder too. Maybe it’s too slick a mess for them to crawl up on? And the stink? Don’t care too much as long as it works!

I have yet to find a dead one. They seem to go outside. Some say to find water.

I am not going to put any kind of bait in my truck. Attracting rodents to my Taco makes no sense.

Figure out a system that works for you. I've got mine.

Or washer fluid or some alcohol would work for some temps a little below freezing.

I bought a 1970 Mercedes from a barn in 1993. There were 23 dead mice in the air filter. They can curl up and died anywhere but you can bet it'll be out of sight.

I've got two mousers. We still had a substantial mouse problem. Had.

We also tried moth balls and they stunk up my Tacoma and my wife's Honda.

You should name them, befriend them, and have them all ride in the front passenger seat exclusively on road trips.

Unknown lift, maybe 2" I don't know how to ID it, and would rather set it back to stock.
If I was anywhere near a cat, I'd be sneezing my brains out. You see, I'm allergic to KAAAH... I'm allergic to KAAAH... I'm allergic to...

First thing cats are good to kill mice.rats will gang up on a car and kill it. Snakes are better rat killers. However most people don't want them around t house.
We had a Pius mice ate he hell out of it.
Here's how I cured the problem. Three things you need.
Glue traps whole box off Amazon.
All weather bait blocks two different types get a bucket full of each.
Couple of 2x4 s lon nails.
Take the glue traps lay along the walls as close as possible all around the structure.
Now take about 12 or so bait blocks nailing them to the 2x4 s
Place them along walls as well reason for the nailing to the board maintains they won't be carried off and allows to monitor how much is being consumed
As they are used replace with the other variety continuely switching.
I have had them carry off to their nest.
I have gone this way and it worked for me.

I must be living under a rock or something because I had no idea that the bucket trap existed. I live in a rural area and the pest control of choice tends to be cats.
I'm going to have to use this bucket trap in my outbuilding to keep critters away from my Husqvarna. My clowder of cats does a great job at handling pest control around my yard. I haven't noticed any mice sneaking inside lately and it has been abnormally cold the previous weeks. Below is a picture of my cats.[IMG]

OP - If I were you, I'd call an exterminator. But that is because I'm a baby when it comes to rats. I live in a rural area because country rats are much smaller than city rats.

Update: I put out some rat traps but havent caught 1 yet. Its been a few days now and the rats havent been in my truck. Not sure where they went but hopefully they stay away. I spent like 60 dollars on traps and now they leave. I just want 1 to come back and step in the trap lol.
    Thanks everyone for chiming in.

Cayenne man. No special mix just shake it all over the engine.

If you read those linked threads you'll see the pic of the shitpile of acorns I had built every night in my engine bays. Not one nut placed under my hood since I started shaking cayenne there.

Don't forget to remove your air filter and shake cayenne in the housing. You'll prolly find debris there too.

Thanks, another remedy to try but no sign of the rats yet. I think they moved to my neighbors boat parked outside.
My airfilter is closed off. I have a snorkel and they cant fit through the snorkel filter.
