    Hi all, first post.

Recently my 2019 TRD Offroad has developed an annoying rattle. I had it at dealer but they said they couldn't hear it due to i raining that day (lol). I have noticed I can get it to rattle of I hold accelerator at 1500-2800 RPMs. Rattles while driving in gear or stopped in neutral. Nothing noticably loose when looking but I'm much more of a parts changer than mechanic. Here is a vid of noise:

Apologies if this is wrong section for post.

You're going to get a lot of guessing on this one. Here's a few. CAT shield, clamp or bolt or CAT has disintegrated inside the casing. All guesses that you should have a mechanic take a listen to or buy an automotive stethoscope or start tapping on stuff with the handle of a hammer.

I kind of figured that may be the case, I just wanted to see if this was any common known issue with a shield or idler pully or something or if sounded familiar to anyone.

The thing about cell phone cameras is they aren't pinpoint so they record all ambient sound. So that's why it's usually hard to decipher via video. Hopefully it's something simple. Good luck! LEt us know what it ends up being.

I scheduled another dealer appointment. Am going to ask if tech can sit in car to confirm he hears the noise since they didn't see anything last time.

Some are going to laugh but I’ve always used a rubber hammer, one of the softer ones. Easy to tap on things underneath …note I said TAP… gives just enough impact to rattle things if they are loose. It’s how I found that my leaf spring mounts were loose from factory. That shit drove me nuts til I found it.

I use a large rubber mallet on my Land Cruiser to find any errant rattles. A smaller one is needed on a Tacoma :p

Just an update to this incase anyone in the future finds this thread. I replaced the serpentine belt with an OEM replacement. Rattle has went away and been good for 6 months or so.
