Yeah it is easy to trick the center dash gauge for tank averages. Real data is in the infotainment system.

Best I achieved was 23.7 on the stock 245 tires, which weigh practically nothing. That 27.5 number is bullshit, it went down by the end of that tank.

Ignore the Debbie Downers they’re just trying to compensate for shortcomings- like modifying their truck and tanking their mileage. And other shortcomings ;)
Always interesting to hear the mileage people get under various conditions. Welcome to TW.

Yeah, you're a young punk compared to me, and your creds are pretty insignificant too. I could bore you with the projects I've worked on for three different auto makers, but hey, like you I'm just some other schmuck on the internet, so I don't bother. Long story short, all of your posts so far qualify as a fail, no, scratch that, an epic fai.

The real data is fill tank to the top of spout and then fill I there again. Real math.
    148 miles / 5.7 gallons = almost 26mpgs

I guess this forum has your big bullies in here trying to control the posts. They can’t add anything useful or have reasonable discussion or ask questions. What a Facking sad world.

I don’t have an opinion/comment about your alleged MPG, but if you keep filling up to the spout, you’re going to spend your fuel savings on a new EVAP canister.

Here’s the way I think about gas mileage, my Taco averages from 18 to 20 mpg, my wife’s Prius Prime gets 60 to 64 mpg on the gas engine and a combined 135 to 140 mpg between gas and electric, so if I got 5 to 10 mpg with my taco I’d still be better off than any of my neighbors who drive standard gas cars.

The ORVR helps reduce hydrocarbon emissions by about 95 percent during refueling.
no evap canister on your 5 gallon gas can to recover those hydrocarbons

Stick around awhile. Yours is not a new finding. We see these and oil change threads all the time. Spend some time searching next time for one of the hundreds of MPG threads and chime in on one of those if you want to avoid the Friday thread comments. Or don't. Your choice. You'll understand after you spend some time here.
