My truck has been making a rattle only when in gear either reverse or drive. It seems to go away upon acceleration or I can no longer hear it, most noticeable when brake is fully applied. I can move it to park or neutral and the rattle instantly goes away.

I have crawled under to look for loose heat shields, replaced a missing bolt on the skid plate and tried to find anything else that may be loose.

its sounds like it is coming from the front engine compartment somewhere. Its difficult to get out and diagnose since it only happens in gear.

Truck is a 2016 SB SR5 54K miles with a behind the grill light bar being the only aftermarket item.

Hoping someone else has had this issue and found a solution. Thanks!

My 2015 has a rattle/buzz when I switch gears. Doesn't do it all the time. Mine alsosounds like it is coming from the engine compartment. l am going to check heat sheilds tomorrow. Maybe we can generate some input here.

On my 2nd gen it was the plastic intake where it goes through the fender. Repositioned it a little and it went away.

Any update on this post? I currently have a rattling-like sound coming from what seems like the front left wheel area when put into Drive/Reverse and stopped with foot on brake... No sound when revving the engine in neutral or park. I also hear it as i take off from a stop but after 10mph it goes away.
