So I just replaced my alternator the old one was whining and not charging up my voltage, I just bought a remanufactured one from orileys. I noticed the new alternator clicked when I spun it, is that normal. I put in the new one and notice now there is a rattling/clicking sound coming from the engine bay. New alt is working great but just want to get rid of that sound.

Alternator should not make any noise. Take it back & get another. Spin it before you leave the store. Maybe save you another trip.

Take it back. A lot of companies to really give a hoot how many times you have to work hard to replace their life time warranty items. I agree that a lot of the time it is worth the extra $'s for quality.

Did you perhaps drop a socket or other tool that's rattling around?

Take you old one to an alternator shop and have them repair it, cost a little more but will be a way better alternator

Sounds like typical parts store junk, best go get it exchanged. Better hang onto your receipt after, those parts store "lifetime warranty" alternators rarely last more than a year or two.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
One weekend I went through every Auto Zone with in 50 miles.

Never did get an alternator that worked . Had a re manufactured Denso by Tuesday from my local dealer.

Ate the core charge fixed the original for a spare.

They call them "Spray and pray" in the industry. They look nice though!

Typical with most parts store junk, it may have a "lifetime warranty" but you will be replacing it for a lifetime too.
