Rattling/grinding noise on acceleration

    Does the noise you’re hearing sound like the one in OP’s video?

    If it does then it’s interesting that you’re hearing it in the 4 cylinder model. Makes me believe that the issue may not be engine pinging.

    I hear it predominantly on the driver front side of my truck, I have suspected before that it could be brake booster/vacuum pump. There are recalls for that part knocking at idle, and it’d make sense if it’s doing the same thing during acceleration.

    another thing someone suggested was that it could be the drive shaft making the noise. I know at some point these Tacoma’s stopped having grease port and opted for sealed grease.
