07 TRD. I've got a rattling noise coming from under the truck. I haven't had a good opportunity to get under there, but wondering if anyone has had this occur and might save me some effort. I always hear it coming and going while the truck is idling. It's a lighter sound like maybe an exhaust clamp or something. Sounds like it's somewhere in the middle.

There are a couple shields under there I believe. I don't do mods and stuff so I'm only under there to change oil every few months. I'll take a look.

Could be a rock in a exhaust shield I've seen this happen before. Crawl under your truck and bang on the exhaust and shields and hopefully you find it.

Same/similar issue here. I tightened up the shield on my passenger side cause it was loose, but that didnt correct my rattle sound. I didnt notice that my driver side is loose, but will check it later.

Any other ideas of things to check for an intermittent rattle?

In my case, it's this heat shield, anyone know if this is the correct part # - 18435-0P020 (upper)

I may grind the nuts off. I've have been trying liquid wrench, but the nuts will not move.

I had a rattling sound near the cat once, and it turned out to be the cat itself, disintegrating inside.

Bringing back an old thread, what did it sound like when your cat was going? I don’t have a heat shield on but mines making a noise. I haven’t looked around very hard as I’ve been fixing other stuff.

I have a very picky friend one of those that would feel a pea under 12" of mattress .

In her case it was a weld that had failed in the muffler drove the poor techs at the shop crazy

For some strange reason they are always to busy to get her in for at least 2 weeks .

Huh, my muffler is brand new, so I hope it’s not that, I can’t seem to pinpoint it, it’s not the worst thing ever, I just don’t want people to think I’m driving a rust bucket, plus it’s a little louder than I’d like for hunting.
