Just tint and ppl for now.
The ATO offers a little more coverage than allpro. The ato flares out at the front member then tapers down to the front of the lca. Allpro is straight down. ATO is about an inch wider than allpro from the front of the lca back to the cross member.

well, i did email bud last night and heard back from him this afternoon. hes got them in stock and ready to go. i also sent a pm to ato, but havent heard back yet.

ato makes them in 3/16" which is how thick the bud built is, instead of 1/4" if you want. with that being said, would you guys say my best bet out of the three (BB, AP, and ATO) if i were to be getting one single skid would be the ATO and maybe just get the 3/16" so i dont weigh my 4cyl down too much?

also, when you guys are talking about the stock skid are you talking about a skid that comes on the offroad models or something? or are you talking about the thin black piece of metal thats more of a splash shield than anything?

I'd get a 3/16" and burn some reinforcments in...

yeah, my budbuilts are pretty beat up....i dont think 1/4 would have survived either, it would just be harder to pound out straight....

planning on putting a piece of steel on the edges so it's a /| on the sides, then burning in some angle iron in other places....triangles FTW!

yeah, a flat paice of steel canonly hold up to so much. even at 1/4 inch. some virticle stiffiners to take the tension in a hard hit will do wonders to prevent dents and bending.

So with one single ifs skid I get more coverage length wise with ato and width wise with bb. Which do you guys think is more important?

Also do I need any extra or special mounting brackets for either of these are do they come with everything or its on the truck already?

unless you can get the first and second bud in order to cover the same area as the ato, i would get the ato.

having said that though, if going with an entire system, i'd get bud simply for the extra coverage. i've had to deal with the lower control arm mounts more than i'd like already, so for me, the extrawidth is a big plus.

as i said before if you take your time and have a spotter you dont HAVE to have skids to run some really fun trails....do some more homework as everyones opinion is going to be different...ato or BB you cant go wrong with either...if you do plan on getting the 2nd skid at some point then go with him since he did respond to you first...dont rush this purchase...

I think I'm going to crawl under the truck for a couple minutes this afternoon and see which I feel is better, having the lcas covered or the extra foot and half of coverage
