Well trigger has officially been pulled!

Surprisingly the local Toyota dealership gave me $500 more than I figured they would give me for the wife's 2013 CR-V and their MSRP on the new ride was right on with the same model I have inquired about around the country/region.

Deposit down and the cash from the CR-V in place for a new 2024 Cavalry blue and metallic black XSE hybrid RAV4. Getting built, and should be here in October.

Nice! .. tbh as long as it's not monochrome I'm all for it. Though I'm still partial to Inferno (on the Taco) ...

I have a 2005. What do you need to know? Would you like to buy it?

    Thanks!
Cavalry blue was my 2nd choice for my taco and honestly I've not seen a single Cavalry blue/metallic black Rav4 around here......not even 1.

    .
FWIW, I got a free platinum warranty 100K when my new Tundra transmission was replaced in 2007.

Best deals I have found on Platinum Warranty on RAV4's are in the midwest ... $1650.00 for 10 year 125K with NO deductible (Non-Hybrid) <-- last years' price.

We really like our 2022 xse hybrid. 38k trouble free miles and nearly paid for. Michelin CrossClimate 2’s put on at maybe 4 or 6k. The OE tires were a joke.

Yes. Wish I had gone a fuz wider for looks, but the wife isn’t interested in that with her cars.

The 2024 Cavalry blue and metallic black top XSE hybrid is exactly what I ordered for the wife.

Glad to hear it's been trouble free, as it's going to get more than double the MPGs my wife's 2013 CR-V got and with all the city driving I do, that will be a huge benefit.

Not sure what tires our 2024 comes with, so will have to do some investigation.

So here is another couple of possibly stupid questions:

    - is it worth it to buy the extended warranty with a brand new hybrid like this?

    - what's the story with OEM rust resistance these days? Do I need anything above what the Manu does to it, or should I take it to my guy who did my Taco?

The way I’ve always looked at it is. Is the extra $$ spent worth your peace of mind on a vehicle that’s gotten many praises to be the most reliable going through the dealership.

My local dealer said they see the rav4 hybrids the least of the whole rest of the fleet.

Kind of the same impression I got from my local Toyota dealership, but I take every word the dealership says with a grain of salt till it's in writing.

I'm also wondering if they do anything OEM for undercoating, or is that something I should do myself?

I've got a guy but just not sure that is the way on a brand new vehicle.

vouch, those are awesome and can handle decent amounts of snow. Not the best in the wet, but y'all should be slowing down anyway.

Those are a good one, my wife got a 2005 after the 96 Tacoma was bought back in 2008. She ran it up to 170K and still ran well, we scooped up a 2014 5 yrs ago with 15K miles and she's at 62K on it. If I didn't have my truck and wanted a SUV I'd definitely buy one.

So my Tacoma needed some work compliments of Toyota. I took the opportunity to use one of their "rental loaners"

A rav 4 hybrid. I was absolutely shocked how much I loved that car. I still can't get it out of my head. Honestly I'd trade my wife's 4runner for one. Do you consider it comparable? We use the 4runner for winter sports it's just better having your stuff inside the truck. I know I'd be giving up room. I'm not even sure what I'm typing. But God damn, that is one smooth ride

Excited for you! Enjoy. Local Toyota dealer called me yesterday asking if I want to trade in my 2017 Tacoma. I said NO!

They DO engage me quite often about selling my 3rd gem. Hell I just got it where I like it AND it's paid off!
