Anyone have experience with these? Thoughts? I don't want to break any hearts but I don't go off roading really. Mostly taking it onto the beach and mild dirt trails. Other than that, it's my daily driver. I'm really looking for a small lift without adding wear and tear (with spacers lol). Will adding a 1 or 1.5 block be okay with these strut spacers?IMG_5308.jpg

I personally wouldn't consider any rough country products. They don't have a very good reputation compared to other manufacturers. For just a little bit more you can get way better quality.

Billstein 5100s will provide over 70% more downtravel compared to these RC shocks (assuming they are stock length) and can use the factory springs. They are also highly reputable and Toyota even partners with Bilstein.

Can these be used with the stock coil overs? Sorry I’m new to all this.

Yes It can use your factory coil springs. It has a plate that can be adjusted up or down that mounts to the coils on the shock to provide different spring loads in different positions. So if you want to weigh down your truck in the future you could keep the shocks and just upgrade the springs.

Bilstein 5100’s with ome 881 coils on lowest setting, JBA upper control arms, LCE header, 31x10.5x15 falken wildpeaks.
look up bilstein 5100’s for your truck and buy them without the coils so you can use your stock coils from your 4600’s and take your truck to a shop and have them swap over the coils from the 4600’s to the 5100’s and install the 5100’s.

@rileytaco99 if you want lift look up the Westcott designs lift kit. They make it specifically for the 5100’s so make sure you order the right ones if you go that route.

not too sure about shops in florida. I’m not familiar with that area. Just do some google searching or go to the regional page on here and find people in your area and ask them. Just make sure it’s a reputable shop.

If all your doing Is the lift and bigger tires I wouldn't worry about 4WP messing anything up.

We all were sometime. So here is a nugget. Tacomas don't have struts. Regardless of what any publication or mechanic says.

Tacoma's have an IFS with double wishbone coil over shock suspension.

Yes, the word shock and strut are tossed around interchangeably. But if you look up even a semi technical article on the concept you'll see how the total assemblies are very structurally different.

OTOH, an alternative is to not bother with any lift. Your use case certainly doesn't need it. A bit of a tire upgrade (more quality than size oriented) and good driving skills and you'll find the truck is quite capable as it sits.

Take the $ you save and make an extra payment. Or buy gas or a couple of eggs.
