Everything is out but the transmission... I'll probably drop it tomorrow, then the drum roll leading up the comparison. I'll take plenty of pics, hopefully they are celebratory.

What does it mean that the RC transmissions have a separate clutch housing? Apparently this is one of the main differences to the RA trans.

The RA bellhousing is built into the front case and bearing support of the transmission, so it can't be easily swapped for another. The RC has gone back to the traditional bellhousing that can be easily unbolted and swapped.

Ah, I see. I hadn't considered that the bellhousing wasn't removable. Thanks.

No go, the input shaft on the RC60F is substantially shorter....

I would think input shaft 33311-26110 should be the right length for the RC60F with the Tacoma bellhousing. It's not very expensive either.

Now the issue lies with compatibility, many other gears and parts have different part numbers than the Hilux... will the input shaft alone be enough?

if the input shaft works its basically a full transmission rebuild to swap it?

I doubt more than the input shaft would be needed. Most of the part numbers are different because the Hilux RC60(F) is built in Thailand and the Hiace RC60 is built in Japan.

I hope you are correct! Shaft is already ordered....

We'll make lemonade here... after verifying fit up, we'll send some parts to WPC Treatment, maybe add an oil pump and spray bar to cool the gears.

Verified that the bearing retainer and bellhousing swap over w/o issue. The input shaft should be here by week's end.
