I PM's rcbs204 for an invoice but want to get him $$ sooner with a pre-order if possible. For those that used PayPal, did you do it differently than going through his link with IE? If so, what info did you use to get to his account? I have a PP account, but not sure how to get to his product...thanks

I downloaded Firefox and used it. Worked with no problems. IE wouldn't let me do it. You can probably PM rcbs204 and ask for his Paypal address and send him the money directly with what colors you want in the notes? Not sure.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
I FULLY agree that Firefox is superior, BUT some people don't have/want Firefox. For those that don't want it, I am truly sorry. It is superior in soooo many ways including the ever important, security. Those that don't have it, get it.

If you must use IE, make sure that you have automatic updates on and that your Windows install and IE is up to date. That can cause problems. If you are using Vista, get rid of it and install a real OS, there problem solved.

NOW, before anyone gets on rcbs204s case, let me remind you that he is doing this as a favor to the members of TW. If you look at the cost of doing this Toyotas way, it is FAR more expensive, and it isn't LED. So by all rights since rcbs204 is designing it with "cool new LEDs" he should charge more than Toyotas solution, BUT HE ISN'T. He is charging less than half for something Toyota didn't do. So please understand this has been a lot of work and aggravation for him. If he raises his price to more than the Toyota "product" I will bow out and you can get on his case. But until then, remember this is a favor so take it easy. Patience is a Virtue. AS ALWAYS rcbs204, thank you for bringing this to us.:D
Sorry had to be brought up again.

I PM'd him but haven't heard back from him ~ know he's super busy. I'll wait for that and pay him then. Thanks for the suggestions...

Looks great rcbs204. Nice job. I'm an electrical dummy tho, and may need some more help with the last bits on the last 3 photos. Not totally clear on how to connect to factory connector ~ are there only two holes for the Molex pins? I'll give it a try with what you have here and PM you if I get stuck. Thanks for an awesome mod!

i know many people are going to not want to pry the switch out, but if you pull the dial out, and use a pair of needle nosed pliars, grab the metal part of the switch and pull, it come out even easier, and maybe once someone does this mod you can add the last directions where the red wire splices to whatever green wire, you know what is mean, red to green or red to green with stripe,

awesome job, can't wait to get mine

I will update the wiring here really soon. I also have to add a disclaimer for legal reasons as well.
Thanks,

You can also use thick duct tape along the plastic back piece, then pry with a broad blade spackle knife. I've done this for removing the climate control section and it works great ~ no gouges in the soft plastic.

This looks amazing. Don't take my suggestions on the documentation negatively, I'm trying to help by providing another set of eyes on the documentation...
On step 10 you could probably add a sentence about the remainder of the wire that is cut off is used starting at step 12. It took me a bit of scrolling back and forth to figure out the pins were already attached to the wire as seen in step 1. I initially thought the wire was throw away after cutting to length.
On step 13, is the AC harness easily accessible or do I need to remove something else to get to it?
Might be nice to have a step 14 be the finished product lighted up either just using the picture you've already shared on the thread or take one with it installed in the dash.
Again, this is an amazing job. Nice work.

Let me add a funny story that may have happened to others here but it makes me laugh everytime I think about it. I was out with some Boy Scouts doing some snow camping. As we get to where we are going to camp it is already dark and as we go off road to where we are going to camp I reach over to turn my 4Hi on and proceed to drive off the main road. Meanwhile my truck seems to be struggling in the snow and it started to feel like someone rolled the window down and got pretty darn cold... then I realized I didn't turn the 4Hi on, I turned the AC on. Once I realized I was turning the wrong dial and used the correct switch everything was fine. This happened one other time on that trip.
